The Importance of Family Involvement
Still Waters’ Family Program gives participants the opportunity to better understand addiction

Alcoholism, drug addiction & the affect on families

Addiction is a family disease.  Through monthly family program meetings and weekly Sunday visitation, Still Waters begins the healing process for families and loved ones, while helping them get started on their own journey of recovery.  The family component uses the 12 Steps of Al-Anon to help all those affected by the disease understand addiction.

STILL WATERS FAMILY PROGRAM

Still Waters’ Family Program allows those negatively impacted by alcoholism and drug dependency to begin the healing process and encourages family members and loved ones to further explore how their lives have been personally affected by the disease of addiction. Still Waters’ Family Program gives participants the opportunity to better understand addiction, family dynamics and the process of recovery embodied in the Twelve Steps of Al-Anon.

The family component includes:

Group discussions
Educational sessions on the 12 Step program
Al-Anon meetings
Family conferences
Meals

Check the calendar of events page for the next scheduled family program weekend!

As you’re now aware alcoholism and drug addiction certainly affects the entire family. Across the board studies show that the more the family is involved in the recovery process the better the chance of long-term recovery for the addict. At Still Waters, we recognize the need for family members and loved ones to be a part of the recovery process and to embark upon their own spiritual journey of recovery.
